Dry Skin

Dry skin is unpleasant and can result in some other problems such as flaking skin and blemishes. In this article, I am going to talk about a handful of reasons which could be the cause of your dry skin.

If you have dry skin then I think it's safe to say you've used a moisturizer before. The problem here is that you might be using a moisturizer that isn't really good, also you could be using it incorrectly. You need to use an thick and creamy moisturizer which has no alcohol or fragrances. You should use the moisturizer while your skin is still moist, after cleansing or bathing. Use the moisturizer before your skin dries out completely but not while it's still soaking wet.

Very hot showers or baths could also be the cause of your skin being dry. Hot water can wash the natural oils out of your skin. You should limit your time in showers and baths and use tepid to warm water rather than hot water. Even people with oily skin should avoid this.

If you are not properly hydrated then your skin can suffer. You do not need to go overboard and drink unnecessary volumes of water. This does not truly reduce the dryness of the skin beyond a certain level. Just make sure that you are consuming enough fluids every single day.

Cleaning your skin with soap causes it to dry up. Soap strips away the skins protective skin oils. You need to use a cleanser that does not contain alcohol or any added fragrances. Anything that leaves your skin feeling restricted after use is no good. You should look for cleansers that are labeled as moisturizing. An oil based cleanser is also something to keep an eye out for. If you have problems with dry skin, you should avoid using any hard and harsh scrubs on your skin.

Dry air sucks moisture from the skin. The air is even more dry during the winter time which is why the skin can feel even more dry during this time of year. To combat this problem, you should moisturize your skin more regularly. You could also use a humidifier to add some moisture into the air.

Exfoliating too frequently may cause your skin to dry. If you have dry skin then you should only exfoliate weekly or twice a week. Be sure not to use any facial scrubs with "organic exfoliants" in them.

Cleansers for oily skin

Picking a excellent skin cleanser is important for  people with the oily skin type. The following are some important tips for you to keep in mind:

  •     Avoid strong cleansers that include chemicals such as alcohol.
  •     Stay away from heavy cleansing creams.
  •     Use an oil based cleanser (indeed, oil based!).
  •     Use cleansers that contain minimal artificial additives (or none at all).
  •     A cleanser which contains lavender is highly recommended.

The usage of an oil based facial cleanser is  arguable, and people are scared to test this out. Most experts  encourage using oil-free or water based cleansers for people who have oily skin however, choosing an oil based  facial cleanser may well produce superior benefits as the oil based solution can dissolve the oil from your pores and skin and the moment you rinse off the cleanser, the oil from your skin washes off with it in a gentle way. Assuming you have never experimented with this then perhaps it is worth seeing if it works for you.

Harsh products that consist of substances such as alcohol result in the skin feeling free of moisture and tight. This results in the skin producing extra oil to compensate for the dryness. This is in no way the result we are looking for, which is why making use of a more mild facial cleanser is recommended.

Soaps and cleansers that have unnecessary substances such as perfume in them may possibly appear and smell more appealing yet they are unlikely to add benefits to the condition of your skin. There are of course several substances that might specifically benefit the oily skin type. An example of this is lavender.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring element found in skin and various parts of the body. Cleansers that contain Hyaluronic acid are recommended as it will help maintain healthy skin. Naturally occurring Hyaluronic acid decreases with age.

The most important factor to keep in mind whenever buying a facial cleanser is to keep trailing products and go with the facial cleanser that works best with your skin. If you discover that a facial cleanser may be working wonders on other people, but it does not appear to be having the same effect on you, do not get put off by this, simply just try something different. Make sure to remember not to cleanse too often. Overdoing it may cause the skin to  dry and the glands to overcompensate and produce more oil. Twice a day is  sufficient for almost all people though 3 times a day may perhaps work better for others. Always try to remember to use a skin moisturizer for oily skin when you finish cleansing.
